Crash kills Webster man riding motorcycle in Hernando County, troopers say


19-Year-Old Dunnellon Resident Succumbs to Injuries Following Brevard County Motorcycle Accident, Reports FHP

SHARPES, Fla. – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 19-year-old motorcyclist from Dunnellon in the early hours of Sunday, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The young man was riding through Sharpes when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed.

The unfortunate incident unfolded at approximately 3:52 a.m. on U.S. Highway 1 near Puma Valley Way. Authorities indicated that the motorcyclist was traveling at a speed exceeding the legal limit in the southbound lane when the accident occurred.

The Florida Highway Patrol’s crash report reveals that the rider failed to manage a left turn effectively, leading to a loss of control. Consequently, the motorcycle veered off the road, colliding with a utility pole.

Emergency services rushed the man to the hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead. According to the troopers, he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The investigation by FHP is ongoing as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
