2-year-old girl abducted from apartment during Chicago home invasion

CHICAGO — Chicago police have launched a search after a toddler was allegedly kidnapped from an apartment during an home invasion on the city’s South Side.

According to police, 3 armed offenders, including a woman known to the family, broke into an apartment on the 4800 block of South Michigan Avenue around 4:50 a.m. Wednesday.

The offenders, the woman and two men, abducted a 2-year-old girl, before stealing a vehicle among other property, from the apartment, police say.

The offenders then fled the scene, with the child, in a stolen gray Nissan hatchback.

Family provided a photo of the 2-year-old girl, but did not want to provide WGN News with her name.
