Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stepper recall

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 300,000 kitchen stools were recalled after two people fell and suffered head injuries.

This recall concerns the Cosco 2-Step Kitchen Stepper, which features a safety bar at the rear. The recall alert indicates that there have been 34 instances of the safety bar either detaching or breaking.

The stools affected by this recall were available for purchase from February 2021 to July 2025 at a variety of retailers such as Target, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and BJ’s Wholesale Club. They were also sold through online platforms including Amazon.com, Wayfair.com, and Overstock.com. These stools came in colors such as blue, navy, green, or white/gray and had the Cosco logo imprinted on the step handle.

The recall includes several model numbers, which are printed on a label on one of the arms.

Customers are advised to cease using these step stools and reach out to the manufacturer to receive a free repair kit. Of the 34 reported incidents concerning the stools, two resulted in head injuries, as per the recall notification.
