Estimated $500,000 in drugs seized in Aiken County, arrest made

AIKEN, S.C. () – The Aiken County Sheriff’s said Narcotics Investigators have dismantled a “major drug operation” after a seizure on May 6.

Authorities stated that they launched an investigation following a tip about a large shipment from California to North Augusta, suspected of containing marijuana. The ACSO reported that they confiscated multiple strains of raw marijuana, along with several thousand THC-infused gummies and vape pens, all valued at approximately $500,000 on the street.

Deputies arrested 23-year-old George Huntington of Warrenville and charged him with Trafficking in Marijuana.

According to police, the items seized are as follows:

  • 70 pounds of Hybrid marijuana
  • 5 pounds of marijuana resin
  • 2,500 THC infused gummies
  • 5,000 THC vape pens

“This marks an important success in our continuous battle against the illegal drug market, and we remain committed to collaborating with our community, as well as local, state, and federal partners to ensure the safety of our streets,” said the sheriff’s office in a release.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety assisted ACSO in the case.
