Downtown Cincinnati violent brawl videos go viral

() A fourth man was arrested and charged with aggravated riot and felonious assault after video showing a group attacking a man and woman in Cincinnati last weekend went viral.

Dominique Kittle, 37, was booked Friday night and is facing a $150,000 bond. He is the fourth of six suspects to be arrested and charged. Kittle joins Jermaine Matthews, 39, Montianez Merriweather, 34, and Dekyra Vernon, 24.

Cincinnati leaders say this incident is getting too much attention. A pastor at a city press conference on Friday told reporters that Vice President JD Vance and Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy were wrong to frame the incident through a racial lens.

The video shows a group of Black men and women hitting and kicking a white man and knocking a white woman unconscious.

While Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval called the racial component “unavoidable,” he decried “cynical” attempts to fixate on it, without calling out any politicians by name.

But critics say city police have not done enough to curb violence downtown and increase the feeling of safety.

Pureval also announced the city is working with Gov. Mike DeWine to reposition its resources to have more visibility in downtown areas at night.
