(KRON) – A couple at a Massachusetts Coldplay concert have stirred intrigue after they were caught on camera trying to shield their faces from the venue’s jumbotron.

Footage of the awkward moment has since gone viral on social media.

Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, is heard commenting on the duo, who were shown on the jumbotron at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, sharing an embrace and swaying to the music.

“Oh, look at these two,” Martin tells the crowd.

The clip then shows the woman, apparently realizing she’s on camera, scrambling to hide her face. The man, too, soon ducks out of view.

“Alright, come on, you’re OK,” Martin can be heard saying as the pair hastily attempt to vacate the shot.

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” Martin quips, as the crowd roars with laughter.

The awkward moment has gained significant traction on TikTok and X, amassing over 26 million views since Wednesday evening. Users and media outlets are trying to uncover the identities of the couple involved in the incident and ascertain whether they are married.

Some internet sleuths currently claim to know who the couple are, but Nexstar has not independently verified the identities of the concertgoers at the center of the viral moment. In any case, commenters on TikTok are naturally quite entertained.

“They made it SO much worse by hiding,” one viewer said.

“The camera man just did the partners of these two a huge service!” another added.

Coldplay, which is currently on its “Music of the Spheres” world tour, played at Gillette Stadium on July 15 and 16.
