Man arrested in Aiken County on charges of assault, kidnapping and criminal sexual conduct with minor

AIKEN, S.C. () – The Aiken Department of Public Safety has arrested a man on several criminal charges, the department said on Tuesday.

Tyrone James was taken into custody on August 5 and faces charges of Assault and Battery in the First Degree, Kidnapping, and Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor in the First Degree.

As stated in the arrest warrants, the charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct is related to an incident that occurred in 2017. James is alleged to have committed sexual battery against a 7-year-old victim.

The allegations of Assault and Battery and Kidnapping are connected to an incident on January 4, 2025. James is accused of hitting a female victim during an argument and wielding a knife while making threats.

According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, it is possible that there are additional victims who have not yet come forward.
