ORLANDO, Fla. – As consumers dive into Cyber Monday deals, Amazon is bracing for a surge in orders, expecting nearly twice its usual volume.
At Amazon’s Same-Day Delivery center in Orlando, employees were preparing for an estimated 90,000 packages to be processed on Cyber Monday alone.
“Typically, we ship around 50,000 packages daily,” explained area manager Daniel Browne. “During the holiday season, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday, that number can rise to 90,000. It’s almost double the usual daily volume.”

To manage this influx, Amazon has ramped up its workforce by creating 250,000 seasonal jobs across the country. In Central Florida, over 2,000 additional workers are expected to join the team.
At the Orlando warehouse, innovative robotic shelves facilitate the movement of products. Once an order is placed, items are swiftly scanned, packaged, and dispatched for delivery within minutes.
“For us, there’s no middleman. It’s all packed out. It’s all sent directly to the customer from this facility,” Browne said.
