The Appalachian Regional Coalition on Homelessness (ARCH) has finalized its yearly point-in-time (PIT) survey, aimed at identifying the number of individuals experiencing homelessness across an eight-county area. Conducted in Johnson City, Tennessee, this year’s count revealed that 927 people are either without shelter or residing in transitional housing or emergency shelters. Terry Burdett of ARCH provided insights into the findings, highlighting the ongoing challenges within the region.
