Police search for person involved in Dale Mabry hit-and-run

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was hospitalized after a hit-and-run on Dale Mabry Highway on Wednesday morning, the Tampa Police Department announced.

Officers were dispatched around 2:30 a.m. after reports of a silver SUV hitting a bicyclist on Dale Mabry Highway near Mango Avenue.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is being treated for critical injuries. He is considered in stable condition, TPD said.

The car involved in the crash is a silver 2019 Chevy Equinox with a Florida tag, JUVE12. The car was last seen eastbound on West El Prado Boulevard.

Police have stated that the vehicle was heading north in the outer lane of Dale Mabry Highway when it collided with a cyclist at the junction of West Mango Avenue.

After hitting the bicyclist, the driver did not stop and fled the scene.
