CHICAGO, Ill. (WCIA) — Former Illini All-American Ayo Dosunmu was on hand to see the next Morgan Park product commit to play at Illinois.

Ayo recently completed his fourth NBA season with the Bulls, posting an average of 12.3 points per game. However, it was recently announced that he will be out for the remainder of the season due to shoulder surgery scheduled for March.

The Chicago product has enjoyed seeing the Illini continue to be a nationally relevant team after his days of donning the Orange and Blue ended.

“It’s amazing to witness this progress,” Ayo remarked. “Now, Illinois is attracting attention; it’s become a desirable destination. We have top-tier players showing interest in Illinois.” He continued, “High-caliber transfers are choosing Illinois, and it’s rewarding to see because this was my vision when I decided to attend. The school is now in a fantastic position, ranking among the country’s top institutions.”
