A reward of $10,000 has been announced for anyone providing information that leads to the arrest of the shooter at Willie’s Bar & Grill on St. Helena Island, S.C.

In a social media post, Christopher Gibbs, who is an attorney and the founder of The Gibbs Law Firm, LLC, declared that the firm would give a one-time reward of $10,000 to anyone who comes forward with credible information within the next 24 hours. The deadline for the reward is set for 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 13.

“This is the last straw! Black people need to realize that saying ‘Black Lives Matter’ and demanding accountability should not be limited to situations involving a white police officer and a black victim,” Gibbs stated in his post, which has since received over 500 reactions.

Gibbs also expressed his willingness to support any politician actively working to pass state legislation that would treat similar crimes as hate crimes, imposing stricter penalties.

“If you’re a black person shooting into a crowd at a venue full of black people, it is clear you hate black people,” the post reads.

He mentioned that the reward offering would be in collaboration with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO). However, when News 3 contacted officials, a spokesperson indicated they were “unaware of any association with the Sheriff’s Office.”
