() Footage has been released showing Bryan Kohberger being pulled over for a traffic stop three months before the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin.

According to documents from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho, Kohberger was cited at 11:40 p.m. Aug. 21, 2022, for speeding.

The officer, who pulled Kohberger over on West Pullman and Farm roads in Moscow, Idaho, issued Kohberger a $10 citation for not wearing his seat belt and gave him a warning for speeding.

Per the police report, Kohberger was driving at 42 mph in a 35 mph zone. Kohberger told the officer he was unaware that it was a 35 mph zone, but admitted to not wearing a seat belt while driving.

In the bodycam footage, Kohberger asked if his insurer would be notified about his not wearing a seat belt. He questioned the need to provide his phone number before obliging.

“Just for future reference, I mean, obviously, I’m an honest person, right? I told you I wasn’t wearing my seat belt. When people lie to you about that, say I lied to you about that, right? Just for my own knowledge, do you honestly go back and look at that?” Kohberger asked the officer.

The officer responded that he should usually check those things before the conversation came to an end.

Kohberger was given four life sentences last Wednesday for the November 2022 murders of Mogen, Goncalves, Kernodle and Chapin, and is being held in the Idaho Maximum Security Institution.
