SAVOY, Ill. (WCIA) — While Kendall Bostic’s playing days at Illinois are over, her dedication to the community has only begun.
The former Illinois star hosted her annual Inspire-HER camp, a complimentary event for local girls to participate in drills and hear from Bostic about her experiences on her path to becoming the Illini’s top rebounder of all time.
“The Champaign community gave us tremendous support as a team, and this event grew from that,” Bostic explained. “Our initial camp had just 12 participants, and now we’ve had more than 136 sign up for this session. I feel like nowadays basketball has so much pressure, with expectations starting early like AAU in second grade, but my goal is for these kids to simply enjoy the game.”
In recent news, it was revealed that Bostic would remain associated with the orange and blue as part of the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics. She has been appointed as the Associate Director of Development for Varsity I, Illinois’s organization dedicated to engaging student-athletes after they graduate.
