Blacksburg, VA — The Virginia Tech Hokies face a quick turnaround after losing to South Carolina in their season opener on Sunday in Atlanta.
This weekend in Blacksburg, the Hokies welcome their second SEC opponent when the Vanderbilt Commodores come calling.
The Hokies don’t need additional motivation since Vanderbilt defeated them last year in the “Music City” bowl, but head coach Brent Pry emphasizes the need to reduce turnovers.
“It’s a crucial week for us. We have to focus on discipline, accountability, executing plays, catching passes, and making smarter choices in key moments. I am proud of our effort and competitive spirit, which kept us in the game, but we made too many errors against a talented team,” says Pry.
“It’s our first game of the year and our first game at Lane Stadium. Playing there is all the motivation we need, with all those fans cheering us on. We’ve stayed motivated and are excited to practice and improve throughout the week to perform better on Saturday,” states Keller.
Kickoff on Saturday at Lane Stadium will be at 7:30.
