MINOT,N.D.– The Minot State Men’s Basketball team had an historic run this season, in large part due to Caleb Van De Griend, who just became the second player in school history to earn All American honors.

The Bridgetown Australia native has been voted to this year’s All American team. Van De Griend joins former Beaver Tyler Rudolph, as the only Beavers to earn All American honors. Van De Griend set school records with 752 points this season, 470 rebounds, and he was able to help lead the Beavers to their first ever national tournament appearance.

“First, I would just like to thank God for this amazing season. I couldn’t have done it without him. He defiantly gave me the strength, and he was really with our team this year. I got to give that to him first, but also the year was just an amazing year. Everyone on this court and on this team, we all put in hard work. We all put in extra hours after practice. We work hard in the weight room and we just have a great relationship with each other. We never really had fights with each other this year, and if there was anything we figured it out very quickly, and just figured out the problem and fixed it very quickly”, said Caleb Van De Griend.
