ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is bracing for a cold snap this weekend, the likes of which haven’t been seen in 16 years.

On Thursday, authorities issued an Extreme Cold Watch across much of the region, marking the first such alert in approximately 15 years. By Sunday morning, some areas could experience wind chills plummeting to a frigid 7 degrees.

    [FLORIDA FREEZE GUIDE: Essential Information]

Here’s a detailed forecast broken down by county:

    Orange County

Sunday morning promises to be particularly chilly, with temperatures expected to dip into the mid-20s, hovering between 23 to 26 degrees.

    Orange county

    Osceola County

Conditions in Orange County, including Orlando and Kissimmee, will be quite similar. Residents should prepare for a cold start to the day, with early morning temperatures ranging from 23 to 26 degrees at sunrise.

    Sumter County

    Seminole County

Much like Orange County, Sunday morning will be cold, with temperatures settling into the low to mid-20s.

    Seminole County

    Marion County

    Marion County

    Flagler, Volusia, and Brevard counties

Below-freezing temperatures are likely across the area. Most spots will fall between 20 and 28 degrees.

    Flagler County
    Volusia County
    Brevard County

    Polk County

Around Lakeland, temperatures will be near 25 degrees, and if you’re in a more rural area, it could be even colder.

    Polk County

This is a serious cold snap for Central Florida.

Take time now to prepare your family, pets, plants, and pipes before the cold sets in.
