SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is marking its 50th anniversary next month by unveiling a special historical gallery and offering reduced ticket prices, as announced by the zoo on Wednesday.
The festivities are scheduled from July 4-6. Visitors can explore the historical gallery set up in the Wayne Densch building, which will showcase photos, significant milestones, cherished moments, and behind-the-scenes highlights from the last 50 years of the zoo’s history.
“The Zoo has evolved significantly since initially welcoming visitors on July 4, 1975, thanks to dedicated residents, Seminole County’s provision of a low-cost, long-term lease for 106 acres, and the visionary leadership of the Zoo’s inaugural director, Jack Hanna,” stated CEO Richard E. Glover Jr. “This celebratory event is our way of expressing gratitude to the community that has supported our journey throughout the years.”
The zoo’s tickets will also have “throwback pricing,” officials said, discounted 20%. Adult and senior tickets will be $19.75 — a tribute to the year the zoo opened. Child tickets will be $16.75.
