The CEO of Astronomer, a tech firm located in New York, stepped down on Saturday amid a buzz created by a video clip filmed at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts. This clip sparked much discussion online.

A viral footage captured a pair ducking out of sight after appearing on the large display screens during the Coldplay show at Gillette Stadium on Wednesday.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin teased the two after witnessing their reaction, saying: “Either they’re having an affair or they’re really shy.”

Not long after, rumors began to circulate, connecting the couple to the tech company.

Responding to the circulating rumors, Astronomer broke their silence on Friday with a post on the social media platform X. They announced that Andy Byron, their CEO, had been put on leave as they initiated an investigation into the matter.

On Saturday, the company released a follow-up statement announcing that Andy Byron had tendered his resignation and the Board of Directors had accepted.

“Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not. We’re continuing to do what we do best: helping our customers with their toughest data and AI problems.”
