JOHNSON COUNTY, Ga. () – On July 16th, 59-year-old Rocky Dennis from Wrightsville, GA, was apprehended and charged after a thorough investigation conducted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office – Criminal Investigation Division (CID).

Dennis is charged with 10 counts of Aggravated Sodomy and 10 counts of Cruelty to Children.

These charges stem from a case involving a confidential victim, who was between 11 and 12-years-old at the time of the alleged abuse.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page states the investigation began on July 9th when the CID received information.

Authorities discovered that the alleged abuse took place between May 2021 and May 2022. During this period, Dennis is accused of supplying the victim with an unidentified drug and coercing them into sexual acts.

On the evening of July 16th, at approximately 7:30 pm, several law enforcement officers arrived at Dennis’s home, where he was arrested peacefully and taken to the Johnson County Jail.

“Let me be crystal clear: anyone who preys on children will face the full force of the law. We will not tolerate this type of behavior anywhere, especially within our community. To those individuals: Know this — We will find you. We will catch you. You will face the consequence.”

Sheriff Greg Rowalnd, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Investigator Troy Fallin at the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at 478-864-4003.
