Country star Zach Bryan vows to never play Kansas City in spat with Chiefs fans

Country star Zach Bryan vowed over the weekend he’ll fly like an Eagle over Kansas City and never play that town again.

The Grammy-winning musician and ardent Philadelphia football supporter has been at odds with K.C. Chiefs fans for several months. This tension peaked when a fan questioned why he has seemingly “targeted one fanbase” that frequently “fills up his concerts.”

“Please understand I will never play in Kansas City,” Bryan responded on X.

Bryan performed in the heart of Chiefs territory less than a year ago, on August 20-21, with two shows at the T-Mobile Center. This venue lies a mere 7.5 miles northwest of Arrowhead Stadium, home to three-time Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s partner, Travis Kelce.

Bryan’s disdain for the Chiefs doesn’t seem to impact the country star’s choice to play before fans of other NFC rivals.

He’s set to play Friday at Golden Gate Park in the heart of San Francisco, where presumably a handful of 49ers fans will be enjoying his music.

In September, the artist is set to perform shows in South Bend, Indiana, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. These locations are likely to draw fans who support the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

The NFL regular season is a little more than three weeks away, as Philadelphia seeks to defend its Super Bowl title.

The Eagles visits Kansas City on Set. 14, in the marquee matchup of Week 2.

The last encounter between these two teams saw Philadelphia dominate Kansas City, winning 40-22 in New Orleans on February 9. The Eagles claimed the Lombardi Trophy for a second time while preventing the Chiefs from securing a third straight title.
