AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Newly released court documents on Monday reveal several alleged incidents of abuse involving murder suspect Hajir Talebzadeh and his ex-wife Melissa Domingo.
Talebzadeh is accused of shooting and killing Domingo and her mother on Sunday, September 6th in the parking lot of Best Buy in Augusta.
The pair divorced in November 2024.
A judge determined that there was “a consistent pattern of psychological abuse, control, and threats by Talebzadeh towards Domingo.” The judge also found credible testimony regarding Talebzadeh’s involvement in animal abuse.
Documents also show that the Aggravated Assault charges against Domingo were dismissed August 1st, 2025.
Domingo shot Talebzadeh in December 2021 during a domestic altercation. The court concluded that she “reasonably believed that the use of force was necessary to prevent death or significant harm to herself.”

The custody arrangement for the child shared by the suspect and the deceased is outlined in detail. The 5-year-old boy moved between his parents’ homes and his grandmothers’ homes while the court evaluated the “most suitable” parent for custody. Ultimately, it was decided that Domingo should have primary custody due to “the father’s increasingly controlling and demanding behavior.”
Records indicate that Domingo “testified about an event where the father [Talebzadeh] brandished a gun and fired; she reported that the bullet fortunately struck a trash can instead of her. She also recounted an incident where he pushed her head into a toilet bowl because he suspected her of infidelity.”
“The father denied all allegations of domestic abuse against him and implied that the mother’s [Domingo] behavior towards him had become emotionally abusive. He testified that she began to use derogatory language and stated she was no longer attracted to him.”
Documents also state that there are “case reports from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department wherein it appears that Talebzadeh’s girlfriend (at the time) attempted suicide, appears at the hospital with injuries consistent with either domestic abuse or human trafficking….”
