DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Police Department is looking for help from the public regarding a recent burglary.
In the early hours of April 27, Decatur police were called to a burglary at the Marathon Gas Station located at 101 E Pershing Road. Officers arrived to find the glass window of the east side door smashed.
Surveillance footage revealed a suspect approaching the east entrance and using a hand tool to break the glass. The suspect entered through the broken door, stole an undetermined amount of goods, and left on foot heading southeast.
The suspect is identified as a male wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants, gloves, white shoes, and a face covering. Images of the suspect are available on the Macon County Crime Stoppers website.
People who have any information on this incident are asked to anonymously call Crime Stoppers at 217-423-TIPS. Tips that lead to an arrest for the crime of the week will receive $500.
