Decatur school bus involved in Monday afternoon crash

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A Decatur Public Schools school bus was involved in a crash just before 3 p.m. on Monday.

The Decatur Police Department reported that a two-vehicle crash occurred near the intersection of West Ash and North Water. A citation was issued to the driver of the other vehicle involved.

Maria Robertson, the Director of Communications & PR for DPS, confirmed the incident. She provided the following statement to WCIA:

Administration was notified of a traffic accident involving an Alltown school bus carrying students. First Responders arrived promptly, and thankfully, no students sustained injuries. The bus was cleared to resume its route.

The police department said there were three students on the bus and two adults. No one involved was injured according to the police department.

The driver of the bus was not issued a citation, according to Robertson.
