Decatur's Faries Parkway to close nightly for construction, beginning Monday

Decatur's Faries Parkway to Undergo Nightly Closures for Construction Starting Monday

DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — Part of Faries Parkway in Decatur will be closed nightly beginning on Monday.

The City of Decatur has announced that overnight closures will occur on Faries Parkway at Brush College Road due to bridge work, although daytime traffic will not be affected. The jughandle road will also continue to be accessible.

Faries Parkway will close from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. The road is expected to close each night until 5 a.m. on Sept. 19.

During the nighttime closures, eastbound traffic, including that headed to the ADM East plant, will need to approach from the south. Decatur officials advise that drivers can then use the jughandle road to proceed east on Faries.

While Faries will stay open for both east and westbound traffic during the daytime, starting September 9, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction, positioned in the southernmost lanes.
