Get ready for a spine-tingling experience in Savannah, Ga., as Bonaventure Cemetery opens its gates for night tours just in time for Halloween! The annual event, Bonaventure Speaks, hosted by the Bonaventure Historical Society, offers an eerie, fascinating stroll through the historic cemetery, with guides recounting the tales of notable individuals laid to rest there.

Bonaventure Speaks is October 4th and 25th this year.

You have two chances for this unique experience: Oct. 4 and 25.

“Experiencing Bonaventure in the serene evening hours, guided by our experts and surrounded by costumed actors sharing remarkable stories, is truly a distinctive adventure,” shares Patricia Alhouse, chair of the Bonaventure Historical Society, with News 3. “Prepare to see Bonaventure in an entirely different light.”

This year’s highlights include stories linking the cemetery to a presidential assassination, a poignant tale of lost love, and the Victorian era’s peculiar fascination with burial grounds.

The event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. at the historic keeper’s cottage just beyond the main entrance of the cemetery. Tickets cost $65 per person, and it’s recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier to ensure parking at the nearby lot.

The paths are unlit, so guests are encouraged to bring battery-powered lanterns or flashlights, though a limited number will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Closed-toed shoes and bug spray are recommended. This event is rain or shine.
