MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. – Authorities found a man’s body on Monday in waters close to the State Road 520 bridge in Merritt Island, as reported by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of a body in the water.

Video from the scene showed law enforcement activity under the S.R. 520 bridge.

The sheriff’s office indicated that an initial inspection showed no visible signs of trauma on the body. Nonetheless, officials are awaiting autopsy results to ascertain the precise cause of death.

The identity of the deceased has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about this case to contact their office.
