PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. – The Disney Cruise Line fleet has proudly welcomed its latest addition with all the grandeur and magic one would expect from the entertainment giant.

On Monday, the Disney Destiny was officially christened in a spectacular ceremony that brought beloved Disney stories to life. The event was a feast for the senses, featuring a dazzling array of drones, vibrant projections, and enchanting music.

The atmosphere was charged with excitement as pop-rock renditions of timeless Disney classics filled the air. Songs from iconic films like “Hercules,” “The Lion King,” “Frozen,” “Black Panther,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” set the perfect backdrop for this unforgettable show.

The ship’s journey to its new home was as grand as the ceremony itself. Having completed an impressive 5,000-nautical-mile voyage from Europe, the Disney Destiny made a brief yet special appearance at Port Canaveral before docking at its permanent base in Port Everglades. It is the third vessel in Disney Cruise Line’s Triton class, joining its sister ships, the Wish and Treasure, which also sail from Port Canaveral.

Excitement is building as the Destiny prepares for its maiden voyage on November 20th. This inaugural sailing promises a thrilling Disney heroes and villains theme, offering passengers the choice of four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean.

The Disney Destiny, a new addition to the expanding Disney Cruise Line fleet, will embark on its maiden voyage from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Nov. 20, 2025, followed by an inaugural season of four- and five-night cruises to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean. The ship draws on the legacies of Disney’s larger-than-life heroes and villains to forge one-of-a-kind vacation experiences for families. The Destiny’s inaugural sailing departs Nov. 20, showcasing a Disney heroes and villains theme on four- and five-night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises.

The ship will debut new entertainment such as “Disney Hercules,” a Broadway-style show, and Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King, a dining experience celebrating the music of “The Lion King.”
