(WJHL) — There were two volleyball championships on the line Thursday night.

In Blountville, Science Hill faced the challenge of defeating Dobyns-Bennett twice to secure the 1-AAA championship, while in Bluff City, the Chuckey Doak Black Knights had to overcome Sullivan East to win the 1-AA title.

The Indians lost the first match against the Lady Hilltoppers, leading to a decisive second match. There, the Lady Indians managed a hard-fought 3-2 victory, clinching the final set 16-14. Both teams are advancing to the regional tournament, with the Lady Indians playing in the dome and the Lady Toppers traveling for their match.

In Bluff City, there was no need for an additional game between the Lady Patriots and Lady Black Knights. Sullivan East triumphed in the Class 1-AA championship with a 3-1 win, maintaining a perfect 4-0 record in the tournament.

On the soccer field, the Lady Patriot team finished with a 1-1 draw against Chuckey Doak this evening. Gracie Cox netted the only goal for the Patriots. Sullivan East is set to host Unicoi Co. in the District Tournament on Tuesday at 6:30.

Providence Academy confronted Notre Dame, resulting in a 4-1 defeat. Lindsay Williams provided an assist to Anarose Kozlowski for a goal, while goalkeeper Mollie Stewart made 5 saves.
