KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Dobyns-Bennett High School Band will perform at the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026.

“The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is excited to invite the Dobyns-Bennett High School Marching Band back to New York City for their 6th performance in 2026,” Sara Flores, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Associate Producer, stated in a press release. “Celebrating their own 100th anniversary next year, this East Tennessee band exemplifies musical excellence and dedication to the marching arts, bringing their passion for performance to New York’s streets next year.”

Dobyns-Bennett will join nine other marching bands for the parade.

In addition to the honor of performing at the iconic parade, the band will also receive a $10,000 grant from Macy’s for fundraising efforts.

“Returning to the Macy’s Parade is an incredible honor! This is particularly special because our band program will commemorate our Centennial during the 100th Macy’s Parade,” said Lafe Cook, Director of Dobyns-Bennett High School Marching Band in the release. “When celebrating significant milestones like a 100th birthday, you think of celebrating with family. In Kingsport, Macy’s feels like family due to our 40-year relationship with the Parade!”
