Storm Team 3: Fall Back tonight, slim rain chances Sunday and Monday

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Prepare for another brisk evening as we head into Sunday morning, with minimal chances of rain to wrap up the weekend.

Saturday greeted residents with a chilly beginning, as many inland regions saw temperatures dip into the 30s, while the official low at Savannah Airport hit 42°F. Despite the cold start, clear skies provided a picturesque introduction to November, with temperatures climbing to the upper 60s across much of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.

Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time concludes at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning, so remember to set your clocks back an hour tonight.

Sunday morning will also be on the colder side, with most areas experiencing temperatures in the 40s overnight. Late-arriving clouds will help keep temperatures from plunging too much. Expect light northeast winds to kick off the day, increasing to a 5 to 15 mph breeze by the afternoon.

Cloud coverage will increase ahead of a swiftly moving cold front, resulting in mostly cloudy conditions by the afternoon. Highs are anticipated to reach the upper 60s to lower 70s. There’s about a 20% chance of scattered showers during the afternoon and evening, with rain chances lingering into early Monday.

This front isn’t expected to cause a significant drop in temperatures or bring substantial rainfall. Monday will start off milder, with mostly cloudy skies early on, transitioning to mostly sunny conditions by the afternoon. The remainder of the workweek promises to be delightful, featuring cool mornings in the upper 40s to lower 50s and afternoons basking in the 70s, with plenty of sunshine.

Rain chances are out of the picture for much of the week with the next opportunity coming as early as next weekend.

The tropics are quiet at this time with no tropical cyclone formation expected over the next week. Long-range guidance suggests the possibility of development in the Southwestern Caribbean Sea, but this is not officially in any outlooks from the National Hurricane Center. There are no tropical threats to the Coastal Empire or Lowcountry at this time.
