MIAMI, Fla. – In a thrilling showdown, Lake Mary High School claimed the FHSAA Class 7A state football title on Saturday night in Miami, overcoming Vero Beach 28-27 with a breathtaking last-second touchdown.
Initially trailing 21-3 at halftime, the Rams mounted an impressive second-half comeback. The game’s fate hung in the balance until the final play, when Lake Mary executed a spectacular Hail Mary pass to equalize. An extra point sealed their dramatic one-point triumph.
The Florida High School Athletic Association took to social media to celebrate the nail-biting conclusion, exclaiming: “A HAIL MARY FOR LAKE MARY!!! A walk-off TD and they win it 28-27!!! They are the Class 7A Football State Champions!!!”
