CHURCH HILL, Tenn. (WJHL) — Emergency teams from the Hawkins County and Church Hill rescue squads are currently conducting a “rope rescue” operation in Church Hill as of Saturday evening.

The incident is unfolding in the 1000 block of Okolona Road, according to a social media update from the Hawkins County Rescue Squad. The post indicated that the rescue operation was underway by 5:05 p.m.

Authorities are advising drivers to steer clear of the area to allow emergency personnel to perform their duties efficiently. The rescue squad also encouraged the community to keep those involved in their thoughts during this time.
