CARTER COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person was charged with DUI and reckless driving after a crash on Interstate 26 in Carter County on April 26.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) reported that a Kia Soul was moving west in the eastbound lanes on I-26 close to mile marker 27.4 shortly after 1 a.m.
The Kia was reportedly driving head-on towards a Nissan Rogue.
According to THP, the driver of a Nissan veered right to avoid the Kia coming at him head-on. This maneuver resulted in the Kia colliding with the Nissan’s front left side, making the Nissan spin off the roadway into a grassy patch.
Both the driver of the Kia and Nissan were injured in the crash, according to THP.
The driver of the Kia, identified by THP as Lenee Hendrix, 44, was charged with DUI and reckless driving.
