School bus driver arrested, Edgefield County School District confirms

EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. () – Recently, the Edgefield County School District announced the arrest of an elementary school bus driver by local authorities on Thursday, Sept. 25.

According to the public information officer for the school district, the incident took place during an elementary school field trip.

“Ensuring the safety of our students and staff, whether they are on school grounds or participating in activities such as field trips, remains our highest priority,” stated Mike Rosier, the Public Information Officer for the Edgefield County School District. “Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and we are fully collaborating with law enforcement while also conducting a thorough investigation. We are deeply appreciative of our parents and law enforcement for their swift actions, which helped prevent the situation from worsening.”
