Edgefield County Sheriff's Office announces death of beloved dispatcher

EDGEFIELD COUNTY, S.C. () – The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office has reported the passing of one of its dispatchers who succumbed to injuries from a car crash early Monday morning.

“We are deeply saddened today as we share the tragic news of the loss of our dear dispatcher, Ada Duncan,” states a released statement from May 26. “Ada passed away due to injuries incurred in a collision while on her way to work this morning.”

South Carolina Highway Patrol reported a fatal car crash had taken place on Youngblood Road around 6 a.m. on Monday.

The statement from the sheriff’s office continues:

“Ada was a cherished member of the ECSO team for nearly 25 years. She was passionate about her career and deeply committed to serving her community. She was truly the reassuring voice on the other end of the radio, dedicating each day to the safety of the citizens and first responders of Edgefield County.”

“Please keep her family, friends, and ECSO family in your prayers during the coming days and weeks as we all process this great loss. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.”

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and North Augusta Public Safety have also shared their condolences.
