Despite the summer-like conditions outside, Nana Ana’s Playhouse in Tampa is fully embracing fall inside, complete with hay bales, pumpkins, and a cozy autumn atmosphere.
This weekend, the indoor play area is turning into a miniature pumpkin paradise, offering a novel twist on a seasonal favorite: an indoor pumpkin patch.
“Not many indoor pumpkin patches exist, especially in Florida!” remarked Jenny Acosta, the owner of Nana Ana’s Playhouse. “It’s sweltering outside, so we wanted to bring the fun of a pumpkin patch indoors, where families can enjoy it without the heat.”
Last year’s event was a big hit among Tampa families, and this year aims to add even more festive excitement. The scene includes hay bales, fall-themed arts and crafts, charming photo opportunities, and, naturally, pumpkins for children to pick and take home.
“It’s like a transformation. They’re in a fall village,” said Acosta. “They’ll take pictures and pick out a pumpkin to take home.”
Having been open for just over a year, Nana Ana’s has quickly become a popular place for local moms like Megan Bishop, who notes that the space offers more than just a spot for kids to play.
“It’s a community where moms can connect outside of home or work,” Bishop mentioned. “Outdoor pumpkin patches can be hot and make kids uncomfortable. This indoor setup is perfect; we visited last year and had a fantastic time.”
Spots for the Indoor Pumpkin Patch Party fill up quickly, so families are encouraged to register early. Kids can come dressed in their favorite fall outfits, think flannel, scarves, and boots, and enjoy a full day of seasonal fun, all in air-conditioned comfort.
