JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The East Tennessee State University (ETSU) chapter of Turning Point USA, a nationwide student organization, announced plans to hold a candlelight vigil on Monday evening in memory of its founder, Charlie Kirk.
Kirk tragically lost his life during an event at a college in Utah on Wednesday. As the founder and CEO of Turning Point USA, he led a movement focused on conservative student engagement, with chapters spanning colleges across the country.
A social media post from Turning Point USA at ETSU on Saturday stated that the vigil is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater near the D.P. Culp Student Center on campus. The event is open to the public, as per the group’s announcement.
