In Baldwin County, Alabama, WKRG reports the arrest of a former professional football player and Alabama Crimson Tide star.

Timothy “TJ” Yeldon, 31, from Daphne, Alabama, is facing charges of third-degree domestic violence, third-degree criminal mischief, and disrupting a domestic violence emergency call, as per the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The BCSO received a 911 emergency call around 1 a.m. on August 16, where it was reported that a domestic violence incident was occurring between a man and a woman, according to the release.

Deputies responded to the 28000 block of State Highway 181, according to officials.

Upon arrival, deputies knocked on the door, but the man turned off the lights and refused entry. The caller indicated she had managed to lock herself in the bedroom when authorities arrived, but the offender tried to enter the room after shutting off the lights.

Deputies on the scene received this information and attempted to force entry, after which the man unlocked the door and was taken into custody.

Yeldon was taken to the BCSO corrections center and was released on a $2,000 bond, according to officials.

Yeldon, known for his time with the Alabama Crimson Tide, was selected in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he played 51 games before joining the Buffalo Bills.

He left Jacksonville on less-than-great terms after then-executive vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin called the running back and Leonard Fournette “disrespectful, selfish and their behavior was unbecoming that of a professional football player,” for their demeanor during a playoff game, ESPN reported.

Yeldon then spent two seasons with the Bills, last playing three games in the 2020 season.
