Community Spotlight: New WIC location in Iroquois Co.

IROQUOIS COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Quera Owens and Susan Fauver from the Vermilion County Health Department joined WCIA 3’s Mitchell Rife in the studio to discuss a new WIC Agency location.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a supplemental food program that provides food assistance for those in need, breastfeeding support, healthcare referrals, and more.

WIC organizers mentioned that after discussions with Watseka officials and residents, they identified a need for WIC resources in the area, as the nearest WIC location was about an hour away. Consequently, the Iroquois County Health Department will serve as a satellite clinic every second and fourth Wednesday of the month.
