The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina (ACCC) on Hilton Head Island, S.C. is showcasing the Tony-nominated Broadway hit, “Waitress: The Musical.” Running until June 1, the plot follows Jenna Hunterson, a skilled pie-maker and waitress, who finds herself trapped in a small town and an unhappy marriage.

Jenna expresses her emotions through her pie creations, concocting desserts that reflect her life’s chaos, like “The Key (Lime) to Happiness Pie” and “Betrayed by My Eggs Pie.” A baking competition in a nearby area provides her with a potential escape to a better future, prompting Jenna to reclaim parts of herself she had neglected. With the encouragement of her waitress colleagues and an unexpected romantic interest, Jenna gains the strength to revive a forgotten dream. Change is brewing, as Jenna strives to craft her own distinctive recipe for happiness.
