() The family of Mohamed Sabry Soliman, the man accused of attacking a crowd of people in Boulder, Colorado, has been taken into Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.

In a post on social platform X, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said her department, in collaboration with ICE, is investigating whether Soliman’s family knew if he was planning the attack or provided support in any way.

“I am continuing to pray for the victims of this attack and their families,” Noem said. “Justice will be served.”

Soliman, an Egyptian national, is accused of throwing an incendiary device into a crowd of people who were rallying for the release of the remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza. Soliman told investigators he had planned the attack for a year and said he wanted to “kill all Zionist people.”

Soliman has been charged with a federal hate crime and attempted murder. His next court appearance is Thursday, June 5.
