OCALA, Fla. – According to police, a fatal accident occurred in Ocala on Wednesday morning when a Ford driver lost their life in a head-on collision after veering into oncoming traffic.

The crash occurred before 11 a.m. on East Silver Springs Boulevard, just west of NE 25th Avenue, the Ocala Police Department said on social media.

The incident took place on East Silver Springs Boulevard, where the Ford, which was heading eastbound, crossed the centerline in the 2400 block and collided with a westbound Dodge Ram.

Police reported that the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Dodge Ram sustained possible serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for medical attention.

The roadway was back open as of 3:22 p.m. following the temporary closure of all westbound lanes, according to the post.
