Two dead, two injured in multi-vehicle crash

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. () – An investigation is underway in Columbia County after a deadly car crash on Monday.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to an incident on Washington Road at Caribe Drive at 5:45 p.m. on September 22 due to a crash involving injuries. According to the sheriff’s office, investigators found that the driver of a gray Ford Bronco was heading west on Washington Road at a high speed and veered into the opposite lane. The Bronco allegedly crashed head-on into a gray Ford Focus, which then overturned onto a red Kia Forte in the adjacent lane.

The driver and passenger of the Ford Focus were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Ford Bronco and the driver of the Kia Forte were transported to Doctors Hospital for their injuries.

Investigators discovered that the driver of the Bronco was allegedly involved in another accident at the intersection of Bobby Jones Expressway and Washington Road just before the incident at Washington Road and Caribe Drive.

According to the sheriff’s office, the names of the deceased will be released once next of kin have been notified.
