An Arizona man who confessed to killing his 2-year-old daughter by leaving her in a sweltering car has been found deceased.

Christopher Scholtes, 38, was located by police on November 5, the same date he was supposed to surrender himself for sentencing.

The circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated, though reports suggest it was a suicide.

Scholtes faced murder charges after abandoning his daughter, Parker, strapped in her car seat for nearly three and a half hours while temperatures soared above 100 degrees.
