The car explosion outside a fertility clinic in California, resulting in one death and four injuries, seems to have been motivated by anti-natalist beliefs, according to two senior law enforcement officials involved in the investigation.

Anti-natalism is the philosophy that discourages procreation. Investigators are examining the suspect’s social media activity, which allegedly promotes anti-natalist ideology. Although the posts are undergoing verification, authorities suspect they reveal the motive behind the attack.

The suspect, who has not been identified, was reportedly dealing with depression and had personal relationship issues.

The seriousness of the injuries of those hurt by the blast were not disclosed.

The deceased, found near the vehicle, has not been identified, and the severity of the injuries was not disclosed.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation deemed the explosion an act of terrorism on Saturday.

The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. at 1199 North Indian Canyon Dr., as reported by city officials. This street hosts various medical facilities, including the Desert Regional Medical Center.

The apparent target of the attack, a fertility clinic called American Reproductive Centers (ARC), confirmed in a Facebook post that a vehicle exploded in the parking lot near its Palm Springs facility.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
