FBI Investigates Suspicious Hunting Stand Overlooking Air Force One in Palm Beach

The FBI has launched an investigation into a hunting stand discovered within the line of sight of Air Force One last Friday, raising concerns over potential security threats. This discovery was made ahead of President Trump’s visit to Palm Beach International Airport.

FBI Director Kash Patel reported that the Secret Service first identified “what appeared to be an elevated hunting stand” situated in proximity to the Air Force One landing zone. This finding prompted the Secret Service to alert the FBI to take charge of the investigation.

Patel stated, “No individuals were found at the scene. The FBI has assumed the lead in the investigation, deploying resources to gather evidence and utilizing advanced cellphone analytics capabilities.” This response underscores the seriousness with which federal agencies are treating the matter.

Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the Secret Service, confirmed the collaborative efforts between the agency, the FBI, and local law enforcement in Palm Beach County. He emphasized, “During our routine advance security preparations, which included technology and thorough physical sweeps, our teams identified items of interest near Palm Beach International Airport. There was no disruption to any operations, and no individuals were present or involved at the site.”

This incident highlights the ongoing vigilance required to ensure the safety of high-profile government figures and the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing potential security threats. As investigations continue, the situation serves as a reminder of the complexities involved in safeguarding the nation’s leaders.

The president departed Joint Base Andrews in Maryland at roughly 4:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, and arrived at Palm Beach International Airport at around 6:25 p.m. He spent the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago club, and returns to Washington, D.C., Sunday afternoon.

Last month, a man was charged with pointing a laser beam at Marine One, the president’s helicopter, while he was on board.

One day later, a Florida jury also found a man guilty of plotting to assassinate the president while he was at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach last September. The man, 59-year-old Ryan Routh, faces up to life in prison.
