HUDSON, Fla. (WFLA) — The Florida Highway Patrol has identified a suspect in connection with a hit-and-run accident that took place last week in Hudson, leaving two teenage boys with severe injuries.
The victims, 16-year-old Kaiden Paradise and 15-year-old Darius Maddox, were riding a minibike when they were struck at the intersection of New York Avenue and US-19 on the evening of October 12.
Due to the gravity of their injuries, both teens were airlifted to a medical facility, where they underwent several emergency surgeries and remained sedated for several days post-accident.
While the suspect’s identity has not been disclosed, authorities revealed she is a 25-year-old woman from Memphis, Tennessee. Collaborating with local state troopers, officials were able to locate the truck involved in the collision, which exhibited damage consistent with the incident.
The woman is likely to face charges for fleeing the scene of an accident resulting in serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
No additional information was provided about whether the woman is in custody or the circumstances surrounding her arrest.
