PALM COAST, Fla. – Authorities in Flagler County are currently investigating a potential attempted child abduction incident. The investigation was launched after a young girl reported being approached while roller skating in her neighborhood in Palm Coast on Sunday.

In response, deputies have been canvassing homes along Fort Caroline Lane, urging residents to share any security camera footage that might aid in the investigation.

Long-time resident Joe Ciacciarelli, who has lived on the street for six years, expressed his surprise when officers requested access to his home surveillance recordings.

“They knocked on my door asking to review the camera footage, which they did, and that was the extent of it,” Ciacciarelli recounted.

Chief Deputy Joe Barile noted that the investigation is ongoing, and due to its active status, the police report remains confidential at this time.

“We received a report that a young girl claimed someone attempted to lure her into a car. She reportedly fought back, prompting the individual to flee,” Barile explained.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or video that could assist in the investigation to contact the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have not released additional details about the possible suspect.
