Florida Democrat accuses the US government of lying about UFOs

Congressman Jared Moskowitz from Florida accused the U.S. government of deceit regarding its knowledge about unexplained aerial phenomena (UAPs) during a House Oversight subcommittee meeting on Tuesday.

At a hearing for the Task Force for the Declassification of Federal Secrets, Moskowitz expressed uncertainty about the truth but confidently stated, “While I’m not certain what the truth is on this topic, I can recognize when we are being deceived, and there is no doubt we are being lied to.”

The session featured multiple veterans who shared their experiences of encountering UAPs during their military service. A newly disclosed video depicting a supposed UAP off Yemen’s coast in October 2024 was also unveiled during the hearing.

Moskowitz, a proponent of increased transparency concerning UAPs, remarked that the spotless reputations of the veterans presenting their testimonies challenge the government’s ongoing lack of full disclosure to the public on such matters.

“The story is shifting. It’s easier for the government if you weren’t military personnel in professional attire. If you arrived here in RVs wearing peculiar hats, it would fit their narrative better,” Moskowitz commented. “This is the second or third committee meeting where we hear from former military personnel with flawless records and firsthand information.”

Tuesday’s hearing featured military veterans who shared their stories of encounters with UAPs.

Dylan Borland, a former U.S. Air Force member, shared with legislators that he suffered “sustained reprisals” after reporting sightings in 2023. He described witnessing a “100-foot equilateral triangle” composed of a “fluid” material that took off from his base in 2012.

Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) showed a video during the hearing of a flying orb struck by what he said was a Hellfire missile. The orb continued on its trajectory after the strike.

“What the hell is that?” asked George Knapp, one of the witnesses of the hearing and a journalist with Nexstar’s KLAS.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.), who chairs the federal secrets task force, said at the start of the hearing that, “We cannot maintain trust in government if we keep American people in the dark.”

At the close of the hearing, she encouraged her colleagues to sign a letter to ensure that whistleblowers like Borland are being given adequate protection.
